# Handle alerts

See alerts about trips, vehicles and drivers on the plan boards and trips, and ignore, solve or fix them.

Updated October 5, 2026

**Who can do this:** The Alerts feature and the alert permission.

Alerts warn you about problems in your planning and execution: a driver without the right ADR qualification, a vehicle that is overloaded, an expired document, or a vehicle that suddenly stands still. Transportial raises them automatically, based on the checks and rules your administrator has switched on. See [Set up alerts and alert rules](/en-us/help/alert-rules).

## Where alerts appear

* On the trip, vehicle, driver and transport equipment plan boards, above the table. You see the alerts for the records on the board.
* In a trip's details and in the trip's execution view.
* In the **Alerts** widget on [your own dashboard](/en-us/help/custom-dashboards): all open alerts of your platform, newest first.
* In Transportial Desktop, a new alert also appears as a system notification.

Alerts update live. When a colleague solves or ignores an alert, it disappears from your screen too.

## Read an alert

Each alert shows a title in bold and a message, for example which driver is missing which certificate. The color shows the severity: error, warning or information. When there are several alerts, use the arrows next to the alert to go through them; the counter (for example 2/5) shows where you are.

## Deal with an alert

1. Read the alert and decide what to do.
2. Click **View & fix** to open the trip, vehicle, driver or other record the alert is about. This button only appears when the alert has a fix action.
3. Fix the problem in that record, for example by assigning another driver.
4. Click **Solved** to close the alert.
5. Or click **Ignore** if the alert does not need any action.

In the **Alerts** widget, **Solved** and **Ignore** only appear when your role may solve or ignore alerts.

Some alerts solve themselves when the problem is gone, for example when a vehicle that stood still starts moving again. This depends on how the alert rule is set up.

## Examples of alerts

* Driver conflicts, vehicle conflicts and means of transport conflicts: the same resource planned twice.
* Missing documents and capacity problems.
* Driving license or tachograph card expired or expiring soon.
* Remaining drive time below the trip duration.
* Planned weight or load meters above the vehicle's capacity.
* A trip that earns less than it costs, or an order without pricing.
* A vehicle entering or leaving a [geofence](/en-us/help/fleet-fms-geofences).

Which alerts you see depends on your platform's settings.
