# Install apps from the App Store

Browse apps that extend Transportial, install, update or uninstall them, change their settings and use the pages and tabs they add.

Updated October 5, 2026

**Who can do this:** The App Store feature on your platform. Installing, updating and uninstalling apps needs role level 1000 or the permission to install apps.

The App Store offers apps that add functions to Transportial, built by Transportial and by software partners. Installing an app makes it available on your whole platform. An app can work in the background, for example by receiving events, or add its own pages, dashboard widgets and tabs to the web app.

## Browse the App Store

1. Open the side menu (☰, top right) and choose **App Store**.
2. Choose a view at the top: **Available**, **Popular** or **Installed**. The **Installed** view shows how many apps your platform has.
3. In **Available**, type in **Search apps** to find an app by name.
4. Click a category to filter on it, or **All** to see everything.
5. Click **Show more** at the bottom to see more apps.
6. Click an app to open its page.

Each app tile shows its price model, such as **Free**, **Paid**, **Freemium**, **Subscription** or **Pay per use**, and a tick for a **Verified publisher**. Apps you already have are marked **Installed**, and **Update available** when there is a newer version.

## Read about an app

The app page shows the publisher, the version and the website of the app, with:

* **About this app**: the description and screenshots.
* **Permissions**: the data the app may read, search, create, change or delete on your platform. _This app needs no access to your data._ means it asks for none.
* **What it adds**: the pages, widgets and tabs the app adds and the events it receives. _This app works in the background only._ means it adds nothing to the screen.
* **Release notes**, **Support** contact and the **Terms and conditions** of the publisher, when the publisher provides them.

Check the permissions before you install. An app can work with all data its permissions allow on your platform.

## Install an app

1. Open the app page and click **Install**.
2. Read the **Permissions** and **What it adds** in the dialog.
3. Fill in the **Settings** the app asks for, if any. Fields marked **Required** must be filled in.
4. Open the **Terms and conditions** to read them.
5. Tick **I give this app the permissions above and accept its terms.**
6. Click **Install app**. Click **Cancel** to stop.

If you are not allowed to install apps, the page shows _Ask an administrator to install this app._ instead of the button.

## Use what an app adds

* A page added by an app appears in the side menu (☰), below **App Store**, under the name the app gives it.
* Widgets appear on the dashboard in a section called **From your apps**. Click a widget's title to fold it in or out.
* Tabs appear next to the regular tabs of a record, for example on a transport order, trip or vehicle.

If an app page does not load, you see _The app page could not be loaded._ Click **Try again**.

## Change an app's settings

1. Open the app page, or the **Installed** view of the App Store.
2. Click **Settings**. It only appears for apps that have settings.
3. Change the values. For a stored secret, such as a password, leave the field empty to keep the current value.
4. Click **Save**. You see **Saved** when it is done.

## Update an app

1. Open the **Installed** view, or the app page.
2. Click **Update to** followed by the version number.
3. Check the **New permissions** the new version asks for. _This version asks for no new permissions._ means nothing changes.
4. Tick the box to give the permissions and accept the terms.
5. Click **Update**.

## Uninstall an app

1. Open the app page, or find the app in the **Installed** view.
2. Click **Uninstall**.
3. Confirm with **Yes**. The app's access is revoked immediately, and its pages, widgets and tabs disappear.
