# Manage businesses

Create, verify, edit and remove the companies you work with: customers, carriers, suppliers and your own companies.

Updated October 5, 2026

**Who can do this:** The business permission. Customer-portal users only see their own businesses and cannot edit them.

A business is any company you deal with: a customer who places transport orders, a carrier you buy capacity from, a supplier who sends you invoices, or one of your own companies. Businesses are used as the customer on transport orders, as the party on quotes and invoices, and as the carrier on capacity contracts.

## Open the business list

1. Open the side menu (☰, top right).
2. Choose **Businesses**.
3. Type in **Search...** to find a business by name.
4. Optional: open the filters to narrow the list, or click a row to open the business.

By default the table shows **Name**, **Chamber of Commerce** and **Address**. You can add the columns **VAT** (the VAT number), **Industry**, **Coordinates**, **Website**, **Made on** and **Modified on**. A tick after the name means the business is verified.

The filters are **Select industry**, **Only verified**, **Relation type**, **Chamber of Commerce** and **VAT**. See [Filters and tables](/en-us/help/filters-and-tables) for sorting, columns, saved views and downloading the list.

## Create a business

1. Click **\+ Create company** at the top of the list. The form opens in a side panel.
2. Optional: click **Choose a logo** and upload the company logo.
3. Enter the **Name**. This is the only required field.
4. Fill in the registration numbers you have: **Chamber of Commerce**, **VAT number**, **Transport License Number**, **EORI** and **SCAC Code**.
5. Choose a language in **Select preferred language...** and an industry in **Select industry**.
6. In **Enter location**, start typing to pick an existing address, or choose **New location** to create one. You can add several locations.
7. Add a **Description**, **Website** and any identifiers you use for this business in other systems.
8. Fill in the invoice and quote addressees (see the table below) and, if your platform uses finance, choose the **Administration**.
9. Add **Contact details** and **Contact Persons**. See [Manage contact persons and contact details](/en-us/help/contacts).
10. Click **Save**.

| Field | What it is for |
| ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Invoice salutation** / **Invoice email** | The department or person that invoices are addressed to, and the e-mail address invoices are sent to. |
| **Quotation salutation** / **Quote email** | The same for quotes. |
| **Administration** | The administration (your own company and bookkeeping) used for this business. Only shown when your platform has the financial feature. |
| **Capacity Contracts** | Only shown when you create a business. Use it to set up the capacity you buy from a new carrier straight away. See [Capacity contracts](/en-us/help/capacity-contracts). |

You do not have to leave a transport order to add a new customer. In the customer field of the order, type the name of a company that does not exist yet and choose the option to add it. The **New company** form opens with the name filled in; after you save it, the company is selected as the customer.

## View a business

Click a row to open the business in a side panel. The header shows the name and number. The tabs are:

* **Information**: registration numbers, website, description and locations, plus the **Notes**, **Contact details** and **Contact Persons** sections.
* **Documents**: files stored on the business. See [Documents](/en-us/help/documents).
* **Bans**: bans that concern this business, for example a driver who may no longer be sent there. Click **Create Ban**, choose the **Chauffeur** and add **Notes**.
* **Complaints**: complaints about this business, which can also be linked to a driver, vehicle, location or user. Click **Create Complaint** to add one.
* **Ledger**: the revenue and cost entries booked for this business. Only shown with the ledger permission.
* **Certificates**: certificates held by the business.

## Verify a business

1. Open the business.
2. Click the **Verification** drop-down in the header.
3. Choose **Verify**. A tick appears next to the name in the panel and in the list.
4. To take the verification away later, open the same drop-down and choose **Invalidate**.

## Edit or remove a business

1. Click **Edit** at the end of the row, or open the business and click the pencil icon (**Edit**).
2. Change the fields and click **Save**.
3. To see earlier versions, open the business and click the history icon (**Version history**).
4. To remove a business, click **Remove** at the end of the row and confirm with **Remove**.

To remove several businesses at once, tick their rows and choose **Remove** in the selection bar.

Removing a business cannot be undone from the list. Check first that it is not still used as a customer on open transport orders or as the party on invoices.
