# Use the dashboard and its tabs

Switch between the Planning, Financial and Management views, open tabs such as the plan board, planner and map planning, and hide dashboard elements.

The dashboard is your start page. It is organized in views (Planning, Financial and Management), and each view has a row of tabs with the tools for that kind of work. Which views and tabs you see depends on your platform's features and your permissions.

## Open a tab

1. Click the home icon in the header, or press Ctrl+D on a Mac or Alt+D on Windows.
2. Choose a view in the selector at the top right of the tab row: **Planning**, **Financial** or **Management**.
3. Click a tab in the row, for example **Planboard** or **Planner**. Scroll the row sideways if not all tabs fit.

The address of the page changes with the tab, so you can bookmark a tab or share the link with a colleague. You can also press Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) with a number to open a tab by its position.

## Planning view

| **Watchtower**    | Watch the status of shipments and their trips. See [Monitor with the watchtower](/en-us/help/watchtower).                                                    |
| **Marketplace**   | Publish and answer tenders. See [Marketplace overview](/en-us/help/marketplace-overview).                                                                    |
| **Route planner** | Calculate routes. See [Plan a route](/en-us/help/route-planner).                                                                                             |
| **Optimizer**     | Let Transportial propose a plan. See [Optimize your planning](/en-us/help/optimizer).                                                                        |
| **Map planning**  | Select orders on the map and build trips. Only shown when your platform has the map planning feature. See [Plan trips on the map](/en-us/help/map-planning). |

In the Planning view, a map with your vehicles and work is shown above the tabs. It is left out on the **Map planning** tab, which has its own map.

## Financial view

Shows the tabs **Invoices**, **Incoming invoices**, **Pending Approvals**, **Quotes** and **Incoming quotes**, depending on your permissions. A second selector next to the view selector lets you choose the administration you are working in. See [Create and send invoices](/en-us/help/invoices) and [Quotes](/en-us/help/quotes).

## Management view

Shows the **Operational** and **Financial** management dashboards. See [Management dashboards](/en-us/help/management-dashboards).

The **Insights** tab with reports is added at the end of the row in every view when your platform has it. See [Run a report on the Insights tab](/en-us/help/insights).

## Which view you start in

The dashboard opens on the first tab available to you. Users with the finance account type start in the Financial view on **Invoices**. A settings group (perspective) may also send you to a specific tab when you switch to it.

## Hide dashboard elements

1. Open the side menu (☰) and choose **Settings**.
2. Click the **User interface** tab.
3. Under **Dashboard elements**, switch off **Map planner**, **Onboarding banner** or **Insights tab**.

The change is saved immediately and only applies to you.

The order of the tabs is fixed. If you want to put your own selection of widgets side by side, build a dashboard of your own under **My dashboards**. See [Build your own dashboard](/en-us/help/custom-dashboards).
