# Log in and keep your account secure

Log in with e-mail and password or single sign-on, reset a forgotten password, use two-factor authentication and recovery codes, and log out.

Updated October 5, 2026

You log in to Transportial in two steps: first your e-mail address, then your password. If your company uses single sign-on, you sign in with your company account instead. This article also covers two-factor authentication and your active sessions.

1. Open the Transportial web app or Transportial Desktop. The **Login** page appears.
2. Enter your e-mail address in **E-mail** and click **Next**.
3. Enter your password in **Password**.
4. Click **Login**. If two-factor authentication is on for your account, continue with the next step.
5. On the **Enter authentication code** page, type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app in **OTP**.
6. Click **Login**. The dashboard opens.

Click **Back** after the first step to correct your e-mail address.

If the code is wrong, you see **This code is not valid. Enter the current code from your authenticator app.** together with the number of attempts you have left. After too many wrong codes the login attempt ends and you are sent back to the **Login** page to start again.

## Log in with a recovery code

Lost your phone, or no access to your authenticator app? Use one of the recovery codes you downloaded when you set up two-factor authentication.

1. Log in with your e-mail address and password as usual.
2. On the **Enter authentication code** page, click **Use a recovery code**.
3. Enter one of your codes in **Recovery code**.
4. Click **Login**. The dashboard opens.
5. Set up two-factor authentication again on the **Security** tab (see below).

Click **Back to the authentication code** to return to the code page. If the code is not accepted, you see **This recovery code is not valid.**

Logging in with a recovery code turns two-factor authentication off for your account and uses up all your recovery codes, not just the one you entered. Turn it on again straight away; you then get new codes.

## Log in with single sign-on (SAML)

When your platform has SAML single sign-on set up for your account, Transportial recognizes your e-mail address after you click **Next** and sends you to your company's sign-in page. Sign in there and you return to Transportial already logged in. You do not have a separate Transportial password, and the two-factor settings in Transportial do not apply to you; your company's sign-in handles that.

## Reset a forgotten password

1. On the login page, click **Forgot your password?**.
2. Enter your e-mail address and click **Recover your account**.
3. Open the e-mail **Recover your account** and click the **Recover your account** button in it. If it does not work, use the link below **Or try this link:**.
4. On the **New password** page, enter a new password of at least 6 characters, and repeat it.
5. Click **Reset** and log in with your new password.

For your privacy, the confirmation page always says an e-mail was sent, even when the address is not known. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder and the spelling of the address.

## Turn on two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) asks for a one-time code from an authenticator app every time you log in.

1. Open the side menu (☰, top right) and choose **Settings**.
2. Click the **Security** tab.
3. Under **Two-factor authentication**, switch the toggle on.
4. Scan the QR code under **Scan QR** with an authenticator app on your phone.
5. Click **Download recovery codes** and store the downloaded file somewhere safe.
6. Type the current code from your app in the field under **Enter authentication code**.
7. Click **Enable 2FA** to confirm.

To turn it off again, switch the same toggle off on the **Security** tab.

You can only download the recovery codes while you set up two-factor authentication. Keep the file safe: without your phone and without a recovery code, only your platform administrator or Transportial support can help you back in.

## Change your password

1. Go to **Settings** \> **Security**.
2. Under **Update password**, enter your **Current password**.
3. Enter a **New password** of at least 6 characters and repeat it in **Repeat password**.
4. Click **Update**.

## Sessions and connected apps

The **Sessions** block on the **Security** tab lists where you are logged in: the device, how long ago the session started and the IP address. Your own session is marked **(Current Session)**. Click **Log out all other sessions** if you see a device you do not recognize or you forgot to log out elsewhere.

**Connected apps** lists AI assistants and other tools you allowed to work in Transportial on your behalf, with their access and when they were last used. Such an app can only do what you can do. Click **Disconnect** to withdraw its access. When an app asks to connect, Transportial shows a **Connect** page with the platform and the access it asks for. Click **Allow** or **Deny**. Only allow apps you started connecting yourself.

## Log out

1. Open the side menu (☰, top right).
2. Click **Log out** at the bottom of the menu.
