# Execute a stop

Work through the stops of a trip: navigate to the address, start and complete each task, record the result and add breaks or waiting time.

Updated October 5, 2026

The **Actions** tab of a trip shows its stops as a timeline. Each stop has one or more tasks, such as loading or unloading. You start a task when you begin it and complete it when you are done, so your planner and customer see progress in real time.

## Read the timeline

* Each card is a stop. It shows the ETA (or the completion time once done), the task types (for example **Loading · Unloading**), the distance and time from the previous stop, the location name, address and any location remark.
* The stop you are working on is highlighted. Only this stop shows its **Tasks** and buttons.
* If a stop shows **No location data available**, the address is missing. Call or chat with your planner.

Each task has a status label:

| Label | Meaning |
| ------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------- |
| **PLANNED** / **PROJECTED** (orange) | Not started yet. |
| **IN PROGRESS** | In progress. |
| **COMPLETED** (green) | Done. |
| **CANCELED** (red) | Canceled by the office for replanning. Skip it. |

## Navigate to the stop

1. Tap the address on the stop card.
2. Check the **Location**, **Address**, **Coordinates**, **Contact Information** and **Remarks**.
3. Tap **Open in Navigation App**.
4. If Waze or HERE WeGo is installed, choose which app to use; otherwise Google Maps opens straight away.

## Start and complete a task

1. When you arrive, tap the green **Start** button next to the task, or the large button at the bottom (for example **Start Unloading**).
2. Do the work. The task now shows **IN PROGRESS**.
3. Tap **Complete** next to the task, or the bottom button (for example **Complete Unloading**).
4. If your company uses a questionnaire for this task, answer it. See [Answer action questionnaires](/en-us/help/openmove-questionnaires).
5. Otherwise, choose the result: **Done**, **Partly done** or **Not able to do**.
6. For **Partly done** or **Not able to do**, describe what happened in **Enter reason...**.
7. Optionally, add a note in **Add remarks...**.
8. Tap **Complete**. The task turns green and the next stop is highlighted when all its tasks are done.

A task linked to a shipment shows the shipment number. Tap it to see the details, or tap the copy icon to copy the number.

## Several tasks at once

Depending on your platform's settings, a stop with several tasks can be handled in one go. You then see a checkbox next to each open task and an **All** checkbox with a counter such as 2/3\. Select the tasks and tap **Start (2)** or **Complete (2)**. When completing, you give one result for the selected tasks, plus one questionnaire per task type that needs it. On some platforms all tasks are selected for you.

## Add a break or waiting time

1. On the current stop, tap **Add Break** or **Add Wait**.
2. Enter a **Remark**, for example the reason for waiting.
3. Enter the **Duration (minutes)**. It starts at 15.
4. Tap **Add**. The break or wait is added as a task on that stop.

Both fields are required. If one is empty, you see **Please fill in all fields with valid values**.
