# Use planning recommendations

See the best-fitting vehicles, drivers, equipment, contracts and existing trips for a shipment, ranked by score, and apply a combination.

**Who can do this:** Requires the Recommendations feature.

Recommendations rank the resources that fit a shipment best, based on location, planning, qualifications and capacity. You can combine a vehicle, driver and equipment from the list and apply them in one click.

## Where you see recommendations

* On a shipment, in the **Recommendations** tab.
* On a transport order with a single shipment, in the **Recommendations** tab.
* In [map planning](/en-us/help/map-planning), as **Best-fitting vehicles** when you select one order.
* In the planner's resource search panel, as a ranked list above the results when one shipment is selected.
* When you pair a driver or attach equipment for a shipment, as a short list of suggestions.

## Read a recommendation

The panel **Recommended assignments** has the sections **Existing trips**, **Vehicles**, **Drivers**, **Transport equipment** and **Capacity contracts**, each with up to five candidates. Each candidate shows:

* A **Relevance score** as a percentage and a bar.
* Reasons it fits, such as "Within reach of pickup" or "ADR certified".
* Warnings, such as "Already scheduled during this window" or "Driver owes daily rest". A blocking warning means you cannot pick the candidate.

## Apply a combination

1. Open the shipment and click the **Recommendations** tab.
2. Click **Use this** on a vehicle.
3. Click **Use this** on a driver and, if needed, on transport equipment.
4. Or click **Use this** on a capacity contract instead. A contract replaces the vehicle, driver and equipment picks.
5. Check the summary bar. Click × to remove a pick, or **Clear** to start over.
6. Click **Apply combination**.

The resources are set on the shipment's first open trip. If it has no trip yet, Transportial creates one with the status planned.

Under **Existing trips**, click **Use this** to add the shipment to a trip that already passes by, instead of creating a new trip.

## AI re-ranking

Administrators can let an AI model re-rank the best candidates using the shipment's remarks and stop instructions, under **Settings** \> **Environment** \> **Planning** \> **AI re-ranking of recommendations (Jev)**. Blocked candidates are never shown. If the model is unavailable, the normal order is used.
