# Set up schedule routes

Define fixed routes between terminals with travel times and weekly departure times, for example for scheduled line services.

Updated October 4, 2026

**Who can do this:** Requires the schedule routes permission. Not available to customer or supplier accounts.

A schedule route is a fixed route between terminals that runs on set days and times, such as a rail shuttle, ferry or line-haul service. It records the stops, the travel time between them and the weekly departure times. In the app it is also called a scheduled or planned route.

## View schedule routes

1. Open the side menu (☰) and choose **Schedule routes**.
2. Search the list with **Search...**.
3. Click a route to open it.

The list shows the **Name** and **Modified on** by default. You can add **Transport modes** and **Made on** as columns.

## Create a schedule route

1. Click **\+ Create planned route**.
2. Enter a **Name**.
3. Choose the transport modes in **Select transportation methods**.
4. Choose the first terminal in **Location from...** and the next in **Location to...**.
5. Enter the travel time between the two stops in hours, minutes and seconds (HH:mm:ss).
6. Click **\+ Add location** for more stops, with a travel time for each leg.
7. Under **Time slots**, set a day and **Start time** for each departure. Click **\+ Add field** for more departures or "-" to remove one.
8. Optionally add pricing under **Modules**.
9. Click **Save**.

Only terminal locations can be used as stops. Set up your terminals first; see [Terminals](/en-us/help/terminals). The form starts with one time slot for every day of the week; remove the days the route does not run.

## Edit or delete a schedule route

1. In the list, open the row's actions.
2. Choose **Edit**, change the fields and click **Save**.
3. Or choose **Remove** and confirm with **Remove**.

You can also click the pencil (✎) in the route's detail panel to edit it.

## Use a schedule route

When you set up capacity, you can link it to a schedule route in **Select planned route**. From there you can also edit the route, or create a new one by typing a name.
