## What is Squarell?

Squarell Technology turns the signals of virtually any vehicle make and model into one harmonized data set. Its CAN-bus connectivity devices read the vehicle and tachograph data, and fleets and telematics providers use that data through Squarell’s Vehicle Data Platform. Squarell also offers remote tachograph download.

## What syncs between Squarell and Transportial

- **Vehicles** (Into Transportial): Squarell devices are imported as vehicles with a board computer and paired with the right truck using the VIN the device reports.
- **Live positions** (Into Transportial): GPS positions arrive every two minutes and feed the live map, trip progress and ETA calculations.
- **CAN-bus data** (Into Transportial): Odometer, fuel used and fuel level, engine hours, speed, RPM, engine temperature, axle weights, PTO status and distance to service become vehicle sensors. Electric trucks add battery and charging data.
- **Live tachograph status** (Into Transportial): Driver work states (driving, working, resting), driving-time warnings and the inserted driver cards.
- **Activities and trip totals** (Into Transportial): Engine on/off, driving and standstill periods are derived from the data and logged on the vehicle, together with Squarell’s trip totals and driver-behavior counters.
- **Tachograph files** (Into Transportial): Remotely downloaded tachograph (DDD) files are stored as documents with the vehicle.

## How to connect Squarell

1. Request API credentials (username and password) for the Squarell Vehicle Data Platform from Squarell.
2. Add the Squarell integration in Transportial with those credentials. Devices are imported as vehicles and matched on VIN.
3. Switch on the data sets you need — positions, CAN data, tachograph, EV data, maintenance. Each runs as its own job, so you only pull what you use.

## Typical use case

A fleet with trucks of several brands, not all with a factory telematics subscription. With a Squarell device in every truck, planners get one uniform set of positions, fuel and tachograph data in Transportial whatever the brand, and fleet managers use the same odometer and fuel figures for cost and fleet reporting.
