# Work with windows and pop-outs

Detach any view into its own window for a second monitor, open new windows, keep windows on top, print, zoom and reload.

Planners rarely work on one screen. In Transportial Desktop you can pop any view out into its own window, for example the plan board on one monitor and the trip you are building on another. All windows share the same sign-in, so a new window is ready to use straight away.

## Detach the current view

1. Open the view you want in its own window, for example the plan board or a trip.
2. Click the **Open in a new window** icon in the header, next to ☰. You can also choose **File** \> **Detach current view to its own window**, or press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+D.
3. Drag the new window to your other monitor and resize it.

The pop-out opens the same page, including the filters in its address. You can keep working in the main window independently.

## Open a new window

* Choose **File** \> **New window** (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+N) to open a window with the dashboard.
* Right-click a link inside Transportial and choose **Open link in new window**.

## Keep a window on top

1. Click in the window you want to keep visible.
2. Choose **View** \> **Keep window on top**.
3. Choose it again to switch it off.

To keep all detached windows on top automatically, switch on **Keep detached windows on top** in the desktop settings.

## Where commands open

**File** \> **New transport order** and **New trip** open the form in the window you are working in. Notifications, tray quick links, deep links and the **Go** menu always navigate the main window, so you do not end up with stray windows.

## Print, zoom and reload

| Menu item                                    | Keys                      | What it does                                            |

| **File** \> **Print…**                       | Cmd/Ctrl+P                | Prints the current window.                              |
| **View** \> Zoom In / Zoom Out / Actual Size | Cmd/Ctrl + plus, minus, 0 | Makes the content larger or smaller.                    |
| **View** \> Toggle Full Screen               | Depends on your system    | Uses the whole screen for the window.                   |
| **View** \> **Reload**                       | Cmd/Ctrl+R                | Reloads the current window. Unsaved form input is lost. |
| **View** \> **Reload all windows**           | Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R          | Reloads every Transportial window.                      |

## Downloads

Files you download, such as CMRs, invoice PDFs and exports, go straight to your Downloads folder. If a file with the same name already exists, the new one gets a different name. A **Download complete** notification tells you when it is done. Prefer to choose a folder each time? Switch on **Ask where to save each download** in the desktop settings.

## Window size and position

The main window opens where you left it, at the same size, the next time you start the app.
