# Offer a trip to nearby drivers

Offer a trip without a driver to drivers near the pickup through the OpenMove app; the first driver to accept gets the trip.

**Who can do this:** Your administrator must switch on first-to-accept dispatching.

With first-to-accept dispatching you do not pick a driver yourself. Transportial offers the trip to drivers nearby in the OpenMove app, and the first driver who accepts is assigned. This suits on-demand work and pools of drivers.

## Offer a trip

1. Open the trip, for example from the plan board or the trip list.
2. Open the trip's options menu (the three dots) next to the pencil.
3. Choose **Offer to nearby drivers**.
4. Read the confirmation, which says how many drivers were offered the trip.
5. Wait for a driver to accept in OpenMove. The driver is then assigned to the trip.

The option is only available while the trip has no driver and is not in transit, pending completion, completed or cancelled. Drivers are searched around the trip's first stop.

If no driver is found nearby, you see _The trip could not be offered_ or a count of 0\. Check that drivers have recent vehicle positions, or widen the search radius.

## Withdraw the offer

1. Open the trip's options menu (the three dots).
2. Choose **Withdraw open offers**.
3. Read the confirmation with the number of offers withdrawn.

## For administrators: switch it on

1. Open **Settings** and click the **Environment** tab.
2. Open the **Planning** section and go to **First-to-accept dispatching**.
3. Switch on **Enable first-to-accept dispatching**.
4. Set the options below.
5. Click **Save**.

| Option                                          | What it does                                                             |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Also assign the driver's preferred vehicle**  | Puts the accepting driver's own vehicle on the trip too (on by default). |
| **Search radius**                               | How far from the trip drivers are offered it.                            |
| **Offer expires after (minutes)**               | How long drivers can accept.                                             |
| **Maximum drivers per round**                   | How many drivers get the offer at once.                                  |
| **Ignore vehicle positions older than (hours)** | Drivers whose last known position is older are not counted as nearby.    |

Leave a number empty to use the standard value.
