Getting started

# Search across Transportial

Find transport orders, vehicles, drivers, companies and locations from the header search, and build precise queries with the search builder.

Updated 5 October 2026

The search box in the header searches the whole platform at once. Use it to jump straight to an order by its number, a vehicle by its licence plate, or a customer by name, without opening the list first.

## Search for something

1. Click **Search...** in the header, or press **/** anywhere outside a text field.
2. Type a number, name or other keyword. Results appear after a short pause.
3. Scroll through the results. They are grouped by type, with the number of hits per group.
4. Click a result to open its details in a panel.
5. Press **Esc** to close the results.

When there are more results than fit, scroll down or click **Load more**. If nothing matches, you see **No search results found**.

## What the results show

| Group | Shown in the result | Opens |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------- | ------------------- |
| **Transport order** | Order number, customer and status | The transport order |
| **Vehicle** | Vehicle name and licence plate | The vehicle details |
| **Chauffeur** | The driver's name and contact details | The driver |
| **Company** | Company name and contact details | The business |
| **Location** | Location name and address | The location |

You only find items you are allowed to see.

## Build a precise query

The search builder helps you combine conditions without remembering the search syntax.

1. Click the filter icon at the right of the search box (**Build search query**). The **Search Builder** opens.
2. Choose a condition type in the first field: **Contains**, **Exact match**, **Does not contain**, **Starts with** or **Ends with**.
3. Type a value in **Enter value...**.
4. Click **\+ Add condition** to add another line, or the cross next to a line to remove it.
5. Check the query that will be run next to **Query:**.
6. Click **Search**, or press Enter in a value field.

## Search syntax

You can also type these forms straight into the search box. They are exactly what the builder produces.

| You type | Meaning |
| ---------------- | ------------------------- |
| rotterdam | Contains the word |
| "rotterdam port" | Exact match of the phrase |
| \-cancelled | Does not contain the word |
| TO2026\* | Starts with |
| \*0042 | Ends with |

Several conditions separated by spaces are combined.

Need to narrow down a single list, such as all trips of one customer this week? Use the filters on that list instead. See [Filter, sort and arrange lists](/en/help/filters-and-tables).
