# Connect other systems with integrations

Learn the four integration types, find your integrations, switch them on or off, and edit or remove them.

Updated 4 October 2026

**Who can do this:** Role level 800 or higher and the integration permission.

Integrations connect Transportial to other systems: board computers, accounting packages, customer portals, email servers, partner systems and anything else that sends or receives data. An integration runs on a schedule, when something changes in Transportial, or when the other system calls in. This article explains the types of integration and how to manage the list.

## Integration types

When you create an integration, you first choose its type. The type decides which fields the form shows.

| Type | Use it for |
| --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Preset integration** | A ready-made connector for a known system (for example a board computer, an accounting package or an SMTP or Exchange mail server). You pick the system, enter its address and login details and choose which functions to run. See [Set up a preset integration](/en/help/set-up-preset-integration). |
| **Self-configurable integration** | Your own connection over API, SQL, FTP, SFTP, webhook or email, with your own field mapping. See [Build a self-configurable integration](/en/help/self-configurable-integration). |
| **API access integration** | Lets a partner or your own software call the Transportial API with a key and secret, limited to the permissions you choose. See [Give a partner API access](/en/help/api-access-integration). |
| **File template integration** | Reads values from documents such as PDFs or spreadsheets, for example to create orders from a customer's order form. See [Read documents with a file template integration](/en/help/file-template-integration). |

Message automations also appear in the list with the type **Message Automation**. You manage those under **Message Automations**, not here. See [Message automations](/en/help/message-automations).

## Open the integrations list

1. Open the side menu (☰, top right).
2. Choose **Integrations**. The list shows how many integrations are loaded, for example "20 of 34 integrations".
3. Type in the search box to find an integration by name.
4. Scroll down to load more rows.
5. Click a row to open the integration's detail panel with its logs and tests.

The table shows **Name**, **Type** and **Activated** by default. You can also show **URL**, the creation date and the date of the last change. See [Filters and tables](/en/help/filters-and-tables) for choosing columns.

## Create an integration

1. In the integrations list, click **\+ Create integration**. The **New integration** panel opens.
2. Enter a **Name** and, optionally, a **Description**.
3. Choose the type in **Select integration type**.
4. Fill in the fields for that type (see the articles linked above).
5. Set the **Off/On** switch at the bottom to on when the integration may start running.
6. Click **Save**. The button stays disabled until all required fields are filled in.

### Let AI draft the integration

In the **New integration** panel, click **Generate with AI**. Describe what you want in **Description** (for example "Fetch transport orders from our customer's TMS every 15 minutes"), optionally add API documentation or sample files under **Upload Documents (optional)**, and click **Generate Integration**. The result is filled into the form. Nothing is saved until you review it and click **Save**.

## Edit, switch off or remove an integration

* **Edit**: click **Edit** at the end of the row, or open the integration and click the pencil (✎) next to its name. The **Update integration** panel opens with the same form.
* **Switch off**: open the edit form, set **Off/On** to off and click **Save**. The integration keeps its settings but stops running.
* **Remove**: click **Remove** at the end of the row. Confirm with **Remove** in the **Remove integration** dialog, or click **Cancel**.

Removing an integration stops all its runs immediately. If you only want to pause it, switch it off instead.

## Platform-wide integration settings

Administrators can decide how all integrations behave, for example whether a change is sent back to the integration that caused it and who is told when an integration fails. See [Monitor an integration](/en/help/integration-logs).

## Next steps

Before you rely on an integration, add tests for it. See [Test an integration](/en/help/integration-tests).
