# Invite a driver to OpenMove

Create a user account for a driver so they receive an e-mail invitation and can sign in to the OpenMove driver app.

**Who can do this:** Permission to create drivers (create:chauffeur) in your role.

Drivers use the OpenMove app to see their trips, execute stops and chat with planners. To sign in, a driver needs a user account that is linked to their driver record. You create it from the driver in the web app.

## Before you start

* The driver record exists. See [Add and manage drivers](/en/help/chauffeurs).
* You know the driver's e-mail address. It must not be in use by another user.

## Create the driver's user account

1. Open the side menu (☰) and choose **Drivers**.
2. Click the driver to open them.
3. Click the three-dot options icon next to the pencil icon.
4. Choose **Create user**.
5. Enter a **Username**, for example firstname.lastname.
6. Enter the driver's **E-mail**.
7. Click **Save**.

## What happens next

* Transportial creates a user with the driver's name and your platform's driver role, in the driver's preferred language.
* The driver receives an e-mail with a link to set a password. The link is valid for 48 hours.
* The driver installs OpenMove and signs in with their e-mail address or username and the new password. See [Install and sign in to OpenMove](/en/help/openmove-install-and-log-in).

A driver can have only one user account. If the driver already has one, or the username or e-mail is taken, the account is not created. Use another username, or check the existing user under [Users](/en/help/users).

If the invitation link has expired, the driver can use **Forgot your password?** on the OpenMove sign-in screen to get a new one.

## Make sure the driver sees their trips

1. Assign the driver to a trip, or pair them with a vehicle. See [Assign a vehicle and driver](/en/help/assign-vehicle-and-driver).
2. Ask the driver to open OpenMove. Their trips appear in the app.
