# Set up your platform with the setup wizard

Walk through the Setup Wizard to configure company details, modalities, integrations, features, order and equipment types, automations and more.

**Who can do this:** Administrators only (role level 800 or higher).

The **Setup Wizard** gets a new platform ready in about ten minutes. It asks about your company and way of working, and then creates the matching order types, equipment types, message automations and invoicing administration for you. Everything it sets up can be changed later.

## Open the wizard

On a new platform, administrators are taken to the wizard automatically the first time they open the dashboard. After that, the dashboard shows the banner **Complete your platform setup** until the setup is done.

1. Open the dashboard.
2. Click **Start Setup Wizard** in the banner, or **Continue Setup** if you started before. The banner then shows your progress as a percentage.

Click the × (**Dismiss**) in the banner to hide it in this browser. You can also hide it under **Settings** \> **User interface** \> **Dashboard elements**.

## Work through the steps

1. Read the step's question and fill in or select your answers.
2. Click **Next**, **Save & Continue**, **Connect & Continue** or **Create** … **& Continue** (with the number of items), depending on the step.
3. Click **Skip for now** to leave a step for later. It is marked as skipped.
4. Click an earlier step in the sidebar to go back and change it.
5. Follow your progress in the sidebar: it shows how many steps are completed.

While your answers are being applied, you see **Saving your configuration…**. Your progress is saved as you go: click **Dismiss** at the top of the wizard to return to the dashboard and continue another time.

## The steps

| Step                    | What you set up                                                                                                                                              |

| **Company Details**     | Your company details and primary and secondary contact. These appear on invoices and documents.                                                              |
| **Company Profile**     | Questions about your company, used to recommend features, types and automations.                                                                             |
| **Modalities**          | The transport modalities you operate. This drives the suggested order types, equipment types and automations.                                                |
| **Operations & Tools**  | Your current way of working and tools.                                                                                                                       |
| **Telematics**          | Connect your board computer or fleet tracking provider.                                                                                                      |
| **Vehicle Registry**    | Link a national vehicle registry to fill in vehicle details from a licence plate.                                                                            |
| **Financial System**    | Connect your accounting or ERP package.                                                                                                                      |
| **Features**            | Which features to switch on. Recommended ones are pre-selected.                                                                                              |
| **Order Types**         | The consignment types available when creating transport orders.                                                                                              |
| **Equipment Types**     | Types and subtypes for pallets, trailers, containers and more, with dimensions and weight limits.                                                            |
| **Automations**         | Automatic notifications and e-mails based on events.                                                                                                         |
| **Administration**      | The financial administration used for quotes and invoices.                                                                                                   |
| **Data & Pricing**      | Information about your existing data, so imports can be prepared.                                                                                            |
| **Fleet & Users**       | Add vehicles, drivers and users in bulk with **Add vehicle row**, **Add driver row** and **Add user row**. Skip this if your telematics system imports them. |
| **Preferences & Goals** | Your goals and preferences.                                                                                                                                  |
| **Complete**            | A summary under **What was configured** and **Recommended next steps**.                                                                                      |

## Finish or start over

On the last step, click **Go to Dashboard**. To run the wizard again from the beginning, click **Start over** in the wizard and confirm. Your saved answers and progress are cleared, but data that was already created, such as types and automations, is kept.
