# Group vehicles

Make named groups of vehicles, such as regions or depots, to filter the planner, insights and fleet views quickly.

Updated 4 October 2026

**Who can do this:** Access to vehicle groups (the vehicleGroup permission) in your role.

A vehicle group is a simple, named set of vehicles, such as "North depot" or "Reefers". A vehicle can be in several groups. Groups are used to narrow down what you see.

## Where groups are used

The **All vehicles** selector in the planner, the insights and the fleet FMS view lists your vehicle groups and fleets together. Pick a group to show only its vehicles.

## Create a vehicle group

1. Open the side menu (☰) and choose **Vehicle groups**.
2. Click **\+ Create vehicle group**.
3. Enter a **Name**.
4. Search for vehicles in **Add vehicles ...** and select them.
5. Click **Save**.

## Add one vehicle to a group

1. Open the side menu (☰) and choose **Vehicles**.
2. Right-click the vehicle.
3. Choose **Add to vehicle group**.
4. Select the group and click **Save**.

## Edit or delete a group

1. In **Vehicle groups**, find the group. The list shows its **Name** and number of vehicles.
2. Click **Edit** to rename it or change its vehicles, then click **Save**.
3. Or click **Remove** and confirm to delete it.

Deleting a group does not delete its vehicles. It only removes the grouping.

## Groups or fleets?

Use a group when you only want a filter. Use a [fleet](/en/help/fleets) when the order of vehicles matters and customers see a fleet number per slot.
