No more WhatsApp groups, no more personal phone calls that leave no record. Transportial's in-app chat connects everyone in your operation in a structured messaging layer where every conversation is tied to the relevant trip or order.

## Key highlights

* **Real-time messaging:** Powered by Socket.IO, messages are delivered instantly to all participants. No polling, no delays.
* **Conversation threads per context:** Each trip, transport order, or ad-hoc conversation has its own thread. Dispatchers see all messages in context.
* **Office to driver:** Dispatchers can message drivers directly from the Plan Board or the trip detail view. Drivers reply from the OpenMove app.
* **Push notifications:** New messages generate push notifications on mobile devices and browser notifications on desktop.
* **Full message history:** Every message is stored permanently. Search conversations, review what was communicated about a specific order.
* **Read receipts:** See when a message has been delivered and read. Critical when you need to confirm a driver has acknowledged a route change.

Technical details

Chat is implemented over Socket.IO with room-based architecture. Messages are persisted to PostgreSQL. Push notifications use Firebase Cloud Messaging.
