Manual status updates are a time-sink and a source of errors. Transportial's Message Automation engine monitors your operation in real time and fires pre-configured communications whenever a defined event occurs, whether that's a trip confirmed, a delivery completed, or a temperature threshold breached.

## Key highlights

* **60+ trigger events:** Automations fire on operational events including trip confirmed, trip started, stop completed, delivery confirmed, invoice created, invoice paid, temperature alert, and dozens more.
* **Five delivery channels:** Send messages via Email (SMTP or Microsoft 365), SMS (Twilio), Telegram, Web Push notifications, and WhatsApp, all from the same automation rule.
* **Drag-and-drop email designer:** Build beautiful, branded email templates without code using a drag-and-drop designer. Upload your logo, set brand colours, and arrange blocks visually.
* **Template Interpreter:** Inject dynamic content using a powerful variable system: {{trip.reference}}, {{consignment.status}}, {{customer.name}}. Supports loops, conditionals, and date formatting.
* **File request automations:** Automatically request documents from customers or carriers and track responses within the platform.
* **Question-answer workflows:** Create interactive automations that ask customers a series of questions and record their answers.
* **Audience targeting:** Each automation can target different recipients: the customer, the assigned driver, the dispatcher, or any custom contact list.

Technical details

Automations are evaluated by the Worker backend node on an internal event bus backed by Apache Kafka. Email delivery uses SMTP or Microsoft Graph API. SMS uses the Twilio REST API.
