Build on Transportial as a developer

Register as a developer to reach the developer portal: the API documentation, your own sandbox and the tools to publish apps in the App Store.

Updated October 5, 2026

Software partners and in-house developers can build on Transportial through its API and publish apps in the App Store. Everything you need for that is in the developer portal, which has its own developer account.

Get a developer account

  1. Go to the registration page of the Transportial web app.
  2. Click Register as a developer? Click here. The page Become a software partner opens.
  3. Fill in your details. Your company name is shown as the publisher of your apps.
  4. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and click Create Account.
  5. Confirm your email address with the link you receive.
  6. Log in. You land on the developer portal dashboard.

Your sandbox

A developer account comes with its own sandbox: a private test platform with demo businesses, vehicles and drivers, separate from any customer. On the dashboard, click Create my sandbox to set it up, and Open sandbox to work in it.

  • Start demo drives moves the sandbox vehicles, so location events and webhooks flow without a board computer. Stop demo drives stops them.
  • Reset sandbox deletes everything in the sandbox and restores the demo data. Installed apps are kept.

What you find in the developer portal

  • The Documentation of the API, with how to authenticate and how to publish an app.
  • Your apps: click New app to create one. Each app has tabs such as Versions, Sandbox, Webhooks, Credentials, Listing, Pricing, Analytics and Reviews.
  • A Getting started checklist that ticks off your progress, from creating your sandbox platform to publishing a version.
  • Your publishers and your Profile, in the menu at the top.

From first version to the App Store

A version holds what your app asks for (permissions and settings) and what it adds (pages, widgets, tabs and webhooks). Install a version in your sandbox to try it. When it works, click Submit for review. A version cannot be changed while it is in review. A version is Draft while you work on it, In review while Transportial checks it, and then Published or Rejected with notes on what to change. Published versions appear in the App Store.

All technical details are in the developer documentation itself; this help center does not cover them.

Connecting a single customer's platform

If you only need to exchange data with one Transportial customer, that customer can create an API access integration for you instead. See Give a partner API access.
