Assign a vehicle, driver and equipment
Put a vehicle, drivers and trailers on a trip, change them or remove them again.
Updated October 4, 2026
A trip needs resources: a vehicle, one or more drivers and, often, transport equipment such as a trailer. You can set them while creating the trip, or add and change them later from the trip's right-click menu or its tabs.
Assign or change the vehicle
- Right-click the trip on the plan board, planner or trips list.
- Point to Vehicle.
- Choose Assign vehicle, or Change vehicle if the trip already has one.
- Select the vehicle in the Assign vehicle panel.
- Click Couple.
To take the vehicle off the trip, right-click the trip, point to Vehicle and choose Remove followed by the vehicle name. You can also change the vehicle in the Search vehicle field of the Update trip form.
When you assign or change a vehicle, the drivers and transport equipment coupled to that vehicle are added to the trip automatically, and those of the previous vehicle are removed.
Assign a driver
- Right-click the trip and point to Drivers.
- Choose Assign driver. The Pair driver panel opens.
- If suggestions appear at the top, click one to pick it. Suggestions need the recommendations feature.
- Otherwise, search for the driver in the driver field.
- Click Couple.
You can also open the trip, go to the Chauffeurs tab and click Pair chauffeur. Remove a driver with the remove icon on the driver's card, or right-click the trip, point to Drivers and choose Remove followed by the name.
Assign transport equipment
- Right-click the trip and point to Equipments.
- Choose Assign transport equipment.
- Select the trailer or other equipment in the Connect means of transport panel.
- Click Couple.
On the trip's Transport equipments tab, the Connect means of transport button does the same.
Other ways
- Drag a trip onto another vehicle row on the plan board or planner. See Plan with the plan board and The planner.
- Let the system propose resources. See Recommendations.
- Let nearby drivers claim the trip themselves. See Offer a trip to nearby drivers.
A confirmed trip is already on the driver's device or board computer. Changing the vehicle or drivers after confirming sends an update; check the result in the integration logs if the vehicle uses a board computer. See Send a trip to the driver.
