Work with stops and actions

Add, reorder and remove stops and shipments on a trip, and complete actions during execution.

Updated October 5, 2026

Who can do this: Permission to update trips.

A trip is made of actions. A stop is a place the vehicle visits; inside a stop are the sub-actions done there, such as Loading, Unloading, coupling a trailer or a Break. Between stops, the route adds Move actions for the driving.

See the actions

  • Actions tab: every stop as a card, with its sub-actions, time window, ETA and documents.
  • Action overview tab: a table with Action, Location, Requested delivery time, Delivery time, Load data, Taken capacity and Available capacity. A negative available capacity means the stop overloads the vehicle.

Add a stop

  1. Right-click the trip and choose Add stop.
  2. Enter the address in Enter location.
  3. Choose the Type: General action (the default), Loading, Unloading, Break, Refuel, Customs or Weighing.
  4. Enter the Duration (minutes).
  5. Choose the Position: After a given stop, or At the end.
  6. Click Add stop.

Add or remove a shipment

  1. Right-click the trip and choose Add shipment.
  2. Search for the shipment in Find shipments....
  3. Click Add shipment. Its loading and unloading stops are added to the trip.
  4. Check the order of the new stops on the Action overview tab.

To take a shipment off, right-click the trip, point to Remove shipment and click the shipment. Its unexecuted actions go back to the planning pool.

Change the order

  • On the Actions tab, drag a card by its handle to a new position.
  • On the Action overview tab, drag a row up or down. Dragging a row out of the list removes that action. Changes here are saved after a few seconds.
  • On an accepted trip, tick Enable Editing on the map. Then drag a marker to move a stop, use + Add Stop and click the map, or use ⇅ Reorder Stops and click two markers to swap them.
  • On an accepted trip, open the options menu (three dots) and choose Reverse Route to drive the stops in the opposite order (loads still come before unloads).
  • Use the Edit form (✎) to change everything at once, then click Recalculate route and Save.

Action menu options

Each action card has its own options menu. What it offers depends on the action and the trip:

OptionWhen
Make currentTrip in transit and all earlier actions completed. Marks the action as started.
CompleteAfter Make current. Marks the action as done.
Edit timesCompleted actions: correct the Start time and End time.
Add wait action / Add pause actionStops: add a wait or break to the stop.
Book timeslotActions with a location: book a slot at the location's loading dock in the Timeslot booking panel.
Add documentSub-actions: upload a file, such as a signed delivery note.

Action life cycle

Every action moves through Requested (not planned yet), Planned (trip confirmed), Projected (trip started, expected), Actual (in progress) and Realized (done). Drivers usually move actions forward from OpenMove or the board computer. See Execute a stop in OpenMove.

When a trip is in transit and the driver forgot to register the last steps, open the options menu (three dots) and choose Complete all actions. Enter the start and end time and a result, then click Complete all.
