Follow a trip live
See where the vehicle is, whether it is on time, and share a read-only tracking link.
Updated October 4, 2026
While a trip is under way, its detail panel updates by itself: the vehicle moves on the map, actions change status as the driver works, and the expected arrival times are recalculated.
Watch a trip
- Open the trip.
- Look at the map on the Information tab. It shows the route, the stops and the vehicle's latest position.
- Check the Plan status at the top: OK, Too early, Too late or Off route.
- Open the Action overview or Route overview tab to see the ETA per stop.
Next to each ETA you see how it compares with the requested time window, for example 25 min late, Within the requested time window or Not yet calculated or known.
What drives the live data
- Vehicle positions come from the vehicle's board computer, fleet system or the OpenMove app.
- Action progress comes from the driver (OpenMove, board computer or execution link) or from a planner completing actions.
- Alerts about the trip, such as a late arrival, appear at the top of the panel.
To watch many trips at once, use the Watchtower or map planning. See Watchtower and Map planning.
Share a tracking link
Give a customer, colleague or partner a read-only view of the trip.
- Open the trip.
- Click the Share icon in the header. You see Text copied!.
- Paste the link in an email or message.
- Send it to the person who wants to follow the trip.
You can also right-click the trip and choose Copy shareable link. The person who opens the link sees the trip's information, map and actions, but cannot edit it or change its status.
To give a customer tracking for their whole order rather than one trip, share the transport order instead. See Share order tracking.
Map controls
On an accepted trip, the map in the trip panel has extra controls: Enable Editing, + Add Stop, ⇅ Reorder Stops and ⊡ Fit Bounds. Once the trip is confirmed, the map is for viewing only.
