Add loading, unloading and other actions

Define the stops of a shipment: where and when goods are loaded and unloaded, with time windows, references and remarks.

Updated October 4, 2026

Actions are the stops of a shipment: the places where something happens, such as loading or unloading. Each action has a location, a type and usually a time window. When you plan the shipment, its actions become the stops of the trip.

Add an action

  1. Open the shipment and go to Actions. A first action, #1., is already there.
  2. Choose one or more types in Type, for example Loading.
  3. Enter the address in Enter location. Start typing to search saved locations, or choose Add "…" to create a new location.
  4. Under Time window, choose the start date and time, and then the end date and time.
  5. Optionally enter a booking or pickup reference in Pin/Reference.
  6. Click + Add comment to add remarks for the driver or the location.
  7. Click + Add action to add the next stop, for example Unloading.

One stop can combine several types. Choose Loading and Unloading together for a stop where you deliver and pick up at the same address.

Change the order of actions

  • Drag an action by its handle to move it. The numbers (#1, #2, …) update automatically.
  • Click × to remove an action.
  • Only actions that are still planned or requested can be changed. Actions that a driver has started or finished are locked.

Warnings and extra fields

  • If the time window falls outside the opening hours of the location, you see Warning! We see that the specified times do not fall within the opening hours of the location. Check the times or the opening hours of the location.
  • When the location is a terminal, a SCAC Code field appears for the carrier code.
  • Goods can have their own actions too, for example when part of the goods is unloaded at another address. These actions show in the shipment's action list as well.

Saved locations keep their opening hours and contact details. See Locations.
