Install Transportial Desktop
Download and install the Transportial desktop app for macOS, Windows or Linux, sign in, and find your way around its menus and tray icon.
Updated 4 October 2026
Transportial Desktop is the Transportial web app in its own window on your computer. It adds native notifications, an unread badge on the dock or taskbar, detachable windows for a second monitor, a tray icon and automatic updates. It is free with every Transportial plan, and you sign in with the account you already use.
Before you start
- macOS on Apple Silicon (M1 and newer) or Intel, Windows 10 or 11, or Linux (AppImage, .deb or .rpm).
- Your Transportial e-mail address and password, or your company's single sign-on.
Download the installer
- Go to the Transportial Desktop page.
- Click the download button. The page suggests the right file for the computer you are on.
- To download for another computer, scroll to Download Transportial Desktop and click Download on the right platform.
On a Mac, choose Apple Silicon for M1 and newer and Intel for older Macs. You find your chip under Apple menu > About This Mac.
Install on macOS
- Open the downloaded .dmg file.
- Drag Transportial to the Applications folder.
- Open Transportial from Applications or Launchpad.
The app is signed and notarised by Apple, so macOS opens it without extra warnings.
Install on Windows
- Run the downloaded installer.
- Choose where to install the app, or keep the suggested folder. The app is installed for your Windows user.
- Finish the installer and start Transportial from the Start menu.
Install on Linux
- AppImage: make the file executable and run it. It works on most distributions.
- .deb (Debian, Ubuntu) or .rpm (Fedora, RHEL): install the package with your package manager and start Transportial from your applications menu.
- Start Transportial. A loading screen appears while it connects.
- Log in as you do in the browser: e-mail, Next, password and Login. See Log in and keep your account secure.
The app connects to the standard Transportial platform (Production). If you were asked to use another environment, see Desktop settings and environments.
Menus and tray icon
- The menu bar (top of the screen on a Mac, top of the window on Windows and Linux) has File, Edit, View, Go, Window and Help. When you belong to settings groups there is also Perspective. On Windows and Linux, Settings holds the desktop settings.
- Go jumps straight to Dashboard, Planboard, Planner, Map planning, Trips, Transport orders, Vehicles, Chauffeurs, Fleets, Locations, Messages or Notifications.
- The tray icon (menu bar on a Mac, system tray on Windows and Linux) offers Open Transportial, quick links, New transport order, New trip, Environment, Check for updates…, Desktop settings and Quit Transportial. On Windows and Linux, a click on the icon shows or hides the window.
- Right-click in the app for copy and paste, spelling suggestions, link options and Reload.
Closing the window does not quit the app by default: it keeps running in the tray so notifications and the unread badge keep working. To quit, choose Quit Transportial in the tray menu, or Quit in the app menu.
Open links in the app
Links that start with transportial:// open straight in the desktop app on the right screen, for example a trip link someone sent you. Links to other websites always open in your normal web browser.
Uninstall
Remove the app as you remove any other application: drag it from Applications to the Bin on a Mac, use Settings > Apps on Windows, or your package manager on Linux. Your data stays on the Transportial platform; only the local preferences of the app are on your computer.
