DAF Connect integration

Direct rFMS connection to DAF trucks via PACCAR Connect. Live position, fuel, AdBlue and engine data plus remote tachograph download, straight from the factory-fitted unit.

What is DAF Connect?

DAF Connect is DAF’s online fleet management system, showing location, fuel consumption, mileage, utilisation and driver performance. In 2024 DAF introduced PACCAR Connect as its successor: every new DAF XB, XD, XF, XG and XG+ comes with ten years of PACCAR Connect as standard, and existing DAF Connect users are offered the upgrade. Third-party logistics software can use its data.

What syncs between DAF Connect and Transportial

  • Into Transportial

    Vehicle list

Every three hours: VIN, licence plate, model, tank or battery capacity, tachograph and gearbox type.

  • Into Transportial

    Position and vehicle status

Every minute over the ACEA rFMS standard: position, speed and altitude, odometer, engine hours, fuel used and fuel level, AdBlue level, RPM, temperatures, gross combination weight and distance to service. Electric trucks add state of charge, charging power and range.

  • Into Transportial

    Remote tachograph download

Every six hours, driver-card and vehicle-unit files are downloaded, stored as documents and matched to the driver by card number and to the truck by VIN. Needs tachograph access licensed with DAF.

How to connect DAF Connect

  1. Request rFMS data access for Transportial through PACCAR Connect. An active data subscription per truck is needed.

  2. You receive OAuth client credentials (client ID and secret) and the API address.

  3. Enter them in the DAF integration in Transportial; the trucks are imported and matched on VIN.

Typical use case

A haulier running DAF XF and XG trucks wants positions, fuel and AdBlue levels in planning without an extra telematics box. The factory-fitted unit already sends the data to PACCAR Connect; through rFMS it lands in Transportial, including tachograph files for the legally required downloads.

Frequently asked questions

Is DAF Connect the same as PACCAR Connect?

PACCAR Connect is the successor to DAF Connect, introduced in 2024. Both give access to the same kind of truck data, and the Transportial integration connects through PACCAR Connect’s rFMS interface.

Is there a DAF telematics API?

Yes. DAF truck data is available to partners over the standard rFMS API through PACCAR Connect, which is what Transportial uses.

Which DAF data comes into Transportial?

Vehicles, live position, odometer, fuel and AdBlue levels, engine data, weights and service distance, EV battery data and remote-downloaded tachograph files.

Can I send routes or messages to a DAF truck?

No. rFMS only provides data from the truck; drivers receive their trips in the Transportial driver app.
