Vehicles

  • Detailed vehicle profiles: Store make, model, licence plate, capacity (weight & volume), axle configuration, emission class, and more per vehicle.

Transport Equipment

  • Attach and detach: Equipment can be attached to and detached from vehicles at any point during a trip, reflecting real-world drop-and-swap operations.
  • Capacity and stacking rules: Define capacity metrics and cargo stacking constraints per equipment type, used by the 3D load planner and the VRP optimiser.

How it works

  1. Register your assets

    Create a profile for every vehicle, driver, and piece of transport equipment. For vehicles, the registry lookup pulls make, model, and technical data from the licence plate so you are not copying numbers from registration papers.

  2. Capture what planning needs

    Capacity in weight, volume, and load meters, axle configuration, emission class, ADR certification, driver hourly rates, and weekend-break preferences all live on the profile. The planner and the optimiser read these constraints directly.

  3. Link resources together

    Attach a trailer to a truck, pair a driver with their usual vehicle, or connect a board computer. Links can change per trip, so drop-and-swap operations are reflected exactly as they happen in the yard.

  4. Assign with confidence

    When a planner drags a trip onto a resource, Transportial checks capacity, certification, and availability against the profile. A driver without ADR certification is flagged before a dangerous-goods load is ever assigned.

  5. Track history and compliance

    Maintenance events, inspections, certificates, and per-trip CO₂ output accumulate on each asset over time, giving you a full service and compliance record when an auditor or customer asks for it.

Assets as first-class entities, not spreadsheet rows

Most operations keep their fleet in three places at once: the planning tool knows vehicle names, a spreadsheet knows capacities, and the workshop knows maintenance state. The moment those diverge — a trailer sold, a licence expired, a tachograph card renewed — planners start making assignments based on stale data, and the errors surface at the loading dock.

Transportial treats every vehicle, driver, and piece of equipment as an independent entity with its own profile, live state, and history. Trailers and swap bodies are not accessories of a truck; they can be attached, detached, and reassigned mid-trip, exactly as they move in reality. Because planning, optimisation, and cost calculation all read from the same profiles, a change made once is a change made everywhere.

Driving hours and ADR built into the data model

EU Regulation 561/2006 limits driving time and mandates rest periods, and infringements are expensive — for the driver and the operator. Keeping track of remaining hours per driver on paper or in a separate tachograph portal means planners find out about violations after they are committed.

In Transportial, remaining driving and rest times are tracked per driver and updated as trips progress, so the Plan Board and the VRP optimiser both refuse to schedule work a driver cannot legally perform. The same applies to qualifications: ADR dangerous-goods certification is a property of the driver profile, checked automatically whenever hazardous cargo is assigned.

CO₂ per vehicle, ready for CSRD

Emission reporting is moving from marketing exercise to legal obligation. Under CSRD, larger shippers must report scope 3 transport emissions, and they increasingly push that requirement down to their carriers as a condition of doing business.

Transportial records CO₂ output per vehicle and per trip as a by-product of normal operations — no separate data collection project. Emission class and fuel type on the vehicle profile combine with actual route distances, so the numbers you hand to a customer are grounded in the trips you actually drove, not fleet-wide averages.

Technical details

Vehicle telemetry is ingested via the OpenMove driver app or Transics board computer integration. IoT sensor data is processed through the Worker node and stored against the relevant vehicle/trip entity.

Can Transportial track trailers and swap bodies separately from trucks?

Yes. Transport equipment is modelled as an independent entity with its own profile, capacity metrics, and history. Equipment can be attached to and detached from vehicles at any point during a trip, so drop-and-swap operations are recorded exactly as they happen.

How does Transportial handle EU driving and rest time rules?

Remaining driving and rest times per EU Regulation 561/2006 are tracked per driver and updated as trips progress. Both the Plan Board and the automatic trip optimiser treat them as hard constraints, so plans that would violate the regulation are flagged before they reach the road.

Do I have to enter vehicle specifications manually?

No. When you create a vehicle you can fetch its data from the vehicle registry by licence plate, which fills in make, model, and technical details. Capacity, load meters, axle configuration, and emission class can then be reviewed and adjusted.

Can I record driver costs for profitability calculations?

Yes. Each driver profile carries a configurable hourly rate that feeds directly into trip cost calculations, so cost and margin per trip, customer, or lane include real labour costs without a separate finance exercise.

Does Transportial support maintenance and inspection tracking?

Maintenance events, tyre replacements, and compliance certificates are logged against each vehicle, and you can set reminders for upcoming inspections. Over time this builds a complete service history per asset.
