The dispatcher's real problem: too many moving parts
A dispatcher's morning is a constraint-satisfaction problem under time pressure: dozens of orders, a finite fleet, drivers with legal driving-hour limits, customers with fixed unloading slots, and a phone that keeps ringing. Tools built around lists force planners to hold the picture in their head. The Plan Board is built around the picture itself — time on one axis, resources on the other, every trip a block you can see and move.
That visual model is what makes exceptions manageable. A truck breaks down, a driver calls in sick, an urgent order lands at 11:00 — on a timeline you can see the hole, see what is nearby, and drag work to close the gap. Conflict detection before the road finds it for you
Every plan looks fine until it collides with the rules: a driver whose remaining driving time will not cover the return leg, a trailer assigned to two trips an hour apart in different cities, a delivery window the route cannot make. Transportial validates the plan continuously as you build it, flagging conflicts on the board while they are still cheap to fix.
Because the board is live, validation covers what is actually happening, not what was planned this morning. As drivers progress through their actions and vehicles report positions, ETAs shift — and a plan that has quietly become infeasible is flagged just like one that was wrong to begin with.

To-do boards and right-click actions keep the small operational tasks — call this customer, send that PDF — attached to the work they belong to.

Yes. The board updates live for everyone; changes from one dispatcher appear instantly for the rest of the team, so planners never overwrite each other's work.
What can I drag and drop on the Plan Board?
Loads and consignments onto trips or resources, and vehicles, drivers and trailers onto trips. Transportial recalculates routes and ETAs after every drop, and flags conflicts immediately.
Does the board warn me about driving-time violations?
Yes. Assignments are checked against EU Regulation 561/2006 driving and rest rules, resource availability and overlapping trips. Violations are flagged on the board while you plan, not discovered on the road.
Is there a calendar or map view as well?
Yes. The same live plan is available as a Gantt timeline (Plan Board), a day/week/month Calendar Planner and a map-based Route Planner. You can switch views without re-entering anything.
Can I still plan manually instead of using the optimiser?
Fully. The optimiser is optional — many teams plan entirely by drag-and-drop, use the optimiser for the bulk and fine-tune by hand, or pin fixed assignments and let the solver work around them.
