Planning settings
Set your personal planning preferences, such as the resource panel and route alternatives, and find the platform-wide planning options.
Updated 4 October 2026
Who can do this: Personal settings: internal users. Platform settings: platform administrators with access to the Environment settings.
Planning behaviour is set in two places: your own preferences, which only affect you, and platform settings, which an administrator sets for everyone.
Change your personal planning settings
- Open the side menu (☰) and choose Settings.
- Click the Planning tab.
- Switch the settings you want on or off. Each change is saved immediately.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Standard link trips | A new trip is linked to the previous one by default. You can still change this per trip. |
| Split consignment with automatic trip creation | When a trip is created automatically, for example by drag and drop, it only covers one unplanned A-B leg of the consignment. |
| The left resource search panel opens | Opens the resource search panel in the planners by default, so you can start dragging right away. |
| Duration at least until next window time | The travel time between stops is at least the time between their time windows. |
| Route alternatives | Shows fastest, eco and cheapest route options when a route is calculated, for example in map planning. |
| Standard visible data types | Which of Trips, Events and Activities the planners show by default. |
Platform planning settings
Administrators find the platform-wide options under Settings > Environment, in the Planning, Routing and UI Settings sections. Click Save after changes. Highlights:
- Planning: planning exceptions (see Handle planning exceptions), Trip cancellation, First-to-accept dispatching (see Offer a trip to nearby drivers), ETA calculation, Driver hours (EU 561/2006), Live activity without a trip, Unavailable driver handling (Ignore, Warn the planner or Block the assignment), default stop durations and AI re-ranking of recommendations.
- Routing: the routing engine, the route optimizer engine, route alternatives and which costs are calculated.
- UI Settings: the Load all button, plan board icons and colours, and map layers. See Set up the plan board and Map layers and overlays.
The Environment tab is only visible to platform administrators.
