Ask the AI assistant about your data

Ask about your trips, orders, invoices and vehicles, how to do something, a reference or a failed import; the assistant shows what it used.

Updated 13 October 2026

Who can do this: The Insights or Reporting platform feature, the insight permission, and an AI model set up for your platform. How-to answers, reference lookup and import explanations need the helpAssistant feature.

The AI assistant sub-tab on the Insights tab answers questions about your own transport data. You type a question such as "How many trips did we complete last week?" and the assistant looks up the data on your platform to answer it. Under each answer you can open the data it used, so you can check the figures yourself.

Ask a question

  1. Open the dashboard and click the Insights tab.
  2. Click the AI assistant sub-tab.
  3. Type your question in the box Ask a question about your data....
  4. Press Enter, or click the send arrow (Send). Press Shift+Enter if you want a new line instead.
  5. Wait while the assistant works. Three dots show that it is busy; larger questions can take a while.
  6. Read the answer. Click a Data from panel under the answer to see the rows behind it.

What you can ask

The assistant can look at your trips, consignments, transport orders, invoices, quotes, vehicles and drivers. Some examples:

  • "Which customers did we invoice the most this month?"
  • "Show the trips that are still planned for tomorrow."
  • "How many open quotes do we have, and what is their total value?"
  • "Which vehicles drove the most trips in September?"

Ask follow-up questions in the same conversation to narrow the answer down, for example "Only for customer X".

Ask how to do something, look up a reference or a failed import

When your administrator has switched on the helpAssistant feature, the same chat also helps you use Transportial. The question box then reads Ask a question, how to do something or look up a reference..., and you can open the chat directly with Ask the assistant at the bottom of the side menu (☰, top right).

  • How to do something: ask for example "How do I import an order from an e-mail?". The assistant answers from this help center only and lists the articles it used under Help articles. Click one to open it in a new tab. If the help center has no answer, it says so.
  • Find a record by its number or reference: type an order, consignment or trip number, a customer reference, a container number, an external identifier, a licence plate or a vehicle name. Matches appear under Found records; click one to open it. You only get records you are allowed to open. If several records match, the assistant asks which one you mean.
  • Why an import failed: ask why an e-mail, integration, document or import failed, with its id if you have it. Without an id, the assistant looks at the failures of the last 24 hours. It explains the likely cause in plain words and the next step.

The assistant replies in your language unless you write in another one.

To retry failed automations and integrations yourself, use the Failed tasks page. See Retry failed tasks.

How the assistant answers

  • It only reads data from your own platform. It never creates or changes anything.
  • It may run several lookups for one question. Each lookup appears as a separate panel, such as Data from trips with the number of rows.
  • Each lookup returns a limited number of rows. For full lists, use the query builder or a ready-made report, which you can download.
  • The data panels show up to 12 columns, and long values are shortened. There is no download from the chat.

Always check important figures in the data panels. If an answer looks wrong, rephrase the question with a clear period and record type, for example "completed trips between 1 and 30 September".

Start over

Click Clear chat in the header to remove the conversation and start a new one.

The conversation is not saved. It is lost when you switch sub-tab, reload the page or click Clear chat.

If you see Something went wrong while answering. Please try again., try again later. If the error keeps coming back, ask your administrator to check that an AI model is set up for your platform.
