Trip documents, CMRs and PDFs

Attach files to a trip, print CMRs per consignment and download PDFs from templates.

Updated 13 October 2026

A trip collects documents along the way: instructions for the driver, photos and signed papers from the stops, and the CMRs of its consignments. You manage them from the trip panel.

Attach a document to a trip

  1. Open the trip.
  2. Click the Documents tab.
  3. Drag one or more files onto the list. It shows Drop here while you drag.
  4. Wait until the files appear in the list.

Each row shows the Name, Description, Mime Type, Valid Until and whether it is Public. Use Edit to change the details or Remove to delete a file. You can also attach files in the Documents field of the trip form.

Add a document to a single action

  1. Open the trip and go to the Actions tab.
  2. Open the options menu of the sub-action, such as an unloading action.
  3. Choose Add document.
  4. Select the files on your computer. The card shows Uploading document… until they are stored.

Drivers add photos and proof of delivery the same way from OpenMove. See Proof of delivery in OpenMove.

  1. Open the trip.
  2. Click the Print CMR icon in the header.
  3. Allow the downloads if your browser asks. One CMR PDF is downloaded per consignment.
  4. Open the PDFs and print them.

See CMR documents for what goes on the CMR.

Give the carrier a neutral CMR

With the neutralCmr feature, a carrier you forward a trip to can get paperwork that does not show your customer. On the CMR, eCMR and order the executing carrier gets, the sender (box 1) and/or the consignee (box 2) are replaced; the places of loading and delivery stay as they are.

  1. Open the forwarded trip and click Edit (✎).
  2. Under Neutral CMR, choose Neutral. As set on the contract or trip uses the setting of the capacity contract; Not neutral switches it off for this trip.
  3. For Sender (box 1) and Consignee (box 2), choose Keep the real party, Our own company, The customer's billing party or A fixed business. By default the sender becomes your own company and the consignee is kept.
  4. Click Save.

When you click Print CMR on a forwarded trip with a neutral CMR, you get two PDFs per consignment: your own CMR and the carrier's neutral one, whose file name ends in -neutral. Set a default for a carrier in its capacity contract, or override it per consignment; the most specific setting wins.

Download a PDF from a template

  1. Open the trip and click the Download from template icon. You can also right-click the trip and choose Download from template.
  2. Choose a template in Select Template.
  3. Click Download PDF.
  4. Open or save the downloaded file.

This needs the document template permission and at least one template for trips. See Document templates.

Download the standard trip PDF

Right-click a trip and choose Download standard PDF to get the trip as a transport order document. For forwarded trips, the Download PDF icon in the header does the same and lets you pick the language. See Forward a trip to a partner.

On the plan board, select several trips and click Download from template to build one document for all of them.
