View and compare sensor data

See temperature, weight, speed and other sensor readings as charts, export them to CSV and compare up to six sensors.

Updated 4 October 2026

Who can do this: Access to sensors (the sensor permission) in your role.

Sensors measure things like temperature, weight, speed, pressure, humidity or voltage on a vehicle or trailer. They are created automatically by your board computer integration, which also sends the readings. You cannot create sensors by hand.

Find a sensor

  1. Open the side menu (☰) and choose Sensors.
  2. Use the search field, or filter on Sensor type or creation date.
  3. Check the Last reading column for the most recent value.
  4. Click a sensor to open it.

Read the chart

A sensor opens on the Data tab with a chart. Use these controls:

ControlWhat it does
RangeThe start and end of the period.
ResolutionAutomatic, or one point per minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, hour, 6 hours, day or week.
AggregationAverage, Minimum, Maximum or Number of readings per point.
Chart typeLine, Area or Bars.
Show min/maxDraws the spread around the line.

Click Export CSV to download the readings shown.

For long periods Transportial may use a wider interval or shorten the period to keep the chart readable. A message above the chart tells you when this happens.

Compare sensors

  1. In the sensor list, click Compare sensors.
  2. Search for and tick the sensors you want, up to six.
  3. Set the period. The readings are drawn in one chart.

Rename a sensor

  1. Open the sensor.
  2. Click the pencil icon (✎).
  3. Change the Name or Placement, for example "Rear compartment".
  4. Click Save.

The type and identifiers are managed by the integration and cannot be changed here. The Properties tab shows them.

Sensors on a vehicle

With the FMS feature, a vehicle's Sensors tab shows all its sensors together, and the Map tab can colour the route by a sensor. See View a vehicle's trips, map and activity.
